Steven Morrissey

Steven Morrissey is one of Australia's leading compliance and workforce capability specialists, with extensive experience across VET regulation, risk management, and training system design. He has delivered more than one hundred audits for ASQA and achieved seven accredited qualifications in the last eighteen months alone—with more than twenty accredited qualifications across eight years.

During his employment with ASQA, Steven conducted over 100 quality and compliance audits, several criminal investigations, and delivered extensive training sessions to all regulatory operations personnel at three separate national moderation conferences. His knowledge of the VET Quality Framework was so well regarded that he was asked to provide training to all non-regulatory operations personnel on the implementation of the Standards for RTOs 2015.

As Manager of Regulatory Operations in the Melbourne Office, Steven was selected by the Commissioner to manage the pilot program for the regulation of offshore delivery of Australian VET providers in China—the first of its kind conducted by an education regulator within Australia, involving onsite audits of several Australian TAFE institutes operating in mainland China.

Steven also brings international experience, having worked with Qatar Petroleum and its subsidiaries to standardise work practices across electrotechnology, mechanical engineering and process operations disciplines. He has also worked with the Commonwealth Department of Human Services to design national risk management frameworks following critical incidents.
